I very rarely deep fry anything, this recipe is one of my favorite indulgences. Then you take the chilled filling and roll it up and add the breading. The chill time is really important because chilling the croquettes gets the filling to stop being sticky. Then you let that meat and cheese mixture chill in the fridge for about an hour. You could opt to make smaller bite-size croquettes – it is totally up to you!Ĭroquettes are surprisingly easy to prepare! You start by mixing up everything on the stovetop. This recipe makes about 16 Italian Croquettes with a heaping tablespoon of the croquette filling. It is a satisfying savory snack, and it is a great more-filling appetizer to serve at a party. I love the crispy crunchy cheese and breadcrumb crust, and the cheesy meaty prosciutto parmesan filling. The basil and lemon added bright fresh flavors to this recipe, and makes these croquettes extra special. In addition to the prosciutto and parmesan, I seasoned the filling with some basil and lemon zest. Plus, croquettes are the ultimate happy hour snack!Īfter our trip, I learned how to make traditional Spanish Croquettes with iberico ham and manchego, and it made me curious to try making Italian Croquettes with prosciutto and parmesan. As people who live in the Midwest, I think we love any food that involves both cheese and deep frying. When Charles and I were in Spain last year, we ate a lot of croquettes. We ate this entire batch between the two of us. Serve Italian Croquettes as a snack or an appetizer … you won’t be able to stop eating them. Using the technique of coating the croquettes in the crumbs, then the egg, and then back in the crumbs give the croquettes a nice thick layer of crunchy breadcrumbs. These easy to make Italian Croquettes takes a traditional Spanish tapa and adds Italian ingredients. The breadcrumbs stick to the croquettes really well, and the panko gives an extra crunch. I like to use a mix of breadcrumbs and larger panko crumbs. Croquettes are one of those things that your friends will assume are complicated and time consuming to prepare – even though the active preparation time is only about 30 minutes. I made these Ham and Cheese Croquettes for a dinner party and my friends loved them. This is an easy way to prep this snack if you are hosting a party. If you want to prepare the croquettes ahead of time, you can fry them and then place them in a warm oven so that they stay hot. Each step is really easy, and I had most of the ingredients I needed at home already. They only require about 30 minutes of preparation time. I had wrongly assumed that croquettes would be hard to make. You could also use leftover roasted ham if you happen to have some. You could use prosciutto and parmesan to give the croquettes an Italian twist. I wanted to make traditional Spanish Ham and Cheese Croquettes, so I filled the croquettes with Iberico Ham and Manchego Cheese, two very typical Spanish foods. We insisted that she try them and she has been talking about them ever since. When we offered one to Mom she replied that she doesn’t like croquettes. Kelly and I wanted to try the ham and cheese croquettes, so we ordered them. We discovered the best little tapas place called Casa Alberto, and sat at a tiny table and feasted on tapas. My sister and I took our Mom to Spain for a very quick 24 hours on our way to Morocco. This is a traditional Spanish tapa that is easy to recreate at home. These Ham and Cheese Croquettes are crispy crunchy on the outside and filled with a creamy cheesy mixture of manchego cheese and Iberico Ham. When I was in Spain I had the most delicious Ham and Cheese Croquettes, and I finally learned how to make them at home.

Most glitches are temporary annoyances or even amusing wonkiness, but some are more dire – one IGN editor playing on PS5 had his entire save file corrupted, leaving him with a never-ending loading screen and locking him out of his save pending an upcoming patch. Maybe day 30? I was able to play it to completion, but only barely: leading up to launch it is absolutely drowning in a sea of upsetting technical issues, whether it’s crashing (which happened to me dozens of times in my more than 80 hours with it on Xbox Series X and to others at IGN on PlayStation 5 and PC), all dialogue stopping during cutscenes, all audio being replaced with a loud screeching noise, getting locked out of quests because a character won’t let you talk to him or being unable to finish because the objective never spawned in, uneven framerates making me seasick, and too many more to list here. If your tolerance for bugs is low, I do not recommend jumping into Dying Light 2 on day one. Besides which, you’re constantly replenishing your selection with better stuff as well, so it’s unlikely you’ll ever find yourself empty handed when you’re fending off a horde. In my experience, by the time a weapon finally broke on me, odds are it had already become too low-level for me to want to use it anyway. In fact, the best weapons can be modded to improve their durability, deal more damage or apply status effects, and can even be repaired a limited number of times to extend their use. However, if you don’t care for having your trusty weapons crumble to ash in your hands, know that Dying Light 2 doesn’t force it on you as often as, say, Breath of the Wild. Weapons come to you as randomly generated loot out in the world or as purchases from vendors at social hubs, but either way they have a limited number of uses before they deteriorate and eventually break. So most of the time you'll be hacking away with a wide assortment of melee weapons that run the gamut from samurai swords to brass knuckles to a metal pipe with a tin can on the end of it. You won’t find any guns in Dying Light 2 and ranged weapons in general are fairly rare (and often impractical, since bows have a low rate of fire). Speaking of killing things, it’s almost entirely done up close and personal. Throwing giant exploding gas tanks at groups of enemies, setting a dozen zombies on fire with a well-placed molotov cocktail, or just walking up to them one at a time and drop kicking them out of a window are just a few ways I rid myself of unwanted undead. Working in its favor, though, even when combat isn’t challenging there are so many fun options for finding inventive ways to kill a whole room of bandits or bloodthirsty brain-eaters that it’s rarely a tedious undertaking. That said, having a Howler sic an entire army of screaming zombies after you is still a stressful encounter, because they follow you everywhere you go (even on rooftops) and make going about your business normally nearly impossible, so they’re still a force to be reckoned with even if they rarely do you in. Maybe it’s a combination of those and other factors, but it wasn’t long before I could easily clear an entire warehouse of angry biters without breaking a sweat. Or maybe it’s the fact that you can more easily over-level yourself in each area before moving to the next, making any new threats feel like pushovers. Maybe it’s because Dying Light 2’s powerful skills and weapon options put those in the original Dying Light to shame, like modified weapons that can cause an explosion on a critical hit or light an enemy on fire for several seconds allowing you to pummel them to death while they’re defenseless. That was disappointing since the first Dying LIght had me sweating bullets anytime I had to go out after dark. I also didn’t feel all that imperiled while running around at night, even when I was being chased by tons of zombies. Since the city streets are flooded with the undead by night and not-yet-dead bandits by day, sticking to rooftops quickly becomes one of the most intricate and high-stakes games of “The Floor is Lava” of all time – and it’s consistently entertaining even when you’re just running from point A to point B. You’ll leap from building to building, scale skyscrapers, and even swing around with a grappling hook with intuitive ease. Your biggest asset in this – and the biggest highlight of Dying Light 2, by a mile – is its liberating and smooth parkour system, which improves upon the first game’s already impressive toolbox. The distinct feel to each part of the day-night cycle creates a balance in what types of things you’ll get up to: you’ll need to spend nights delving into abandoned subway stations, power plants, and hospitals to gather new weapons and crafting materials, completing missions along the way by day you travel through the city and complete story missions outdoors unless you absolutely have to go inside. There are some very high dollar speaker systems out there that are very inefficient and have low impedance ratings that sound great, if paired with an appropriate amplifier. If a speaker has a fluctuant impedance or is nominally a low impedance it is harder for an amplifier to drive. When I mentioned load I was refering to impedance. BIC may be another brand you could look into for efficient, good value, and fidelity. Just because the Fostex is efficient and of high quality build doesn't mean every other driver will be in the same line in relation to build quality and efficiency. The cool thing about Athena is they are quite efficient as well. The quality build of the Missions are likely to be much higher than that of the MTX, as well as Athena (they are almost certainly better quality). It seems to me you wheren't interested in others' opinions, just wanted to feel better about a decision you already made.Ī more efficient driver does not make it better. I had a DCM center channel with a similar tweeter, if not the same exact one, that sounded aweful. Wafflesomd says they sound small and I say the tweeters are absolute garbage, cheap OEM ferro fluid cooled polymer junk. So, you ask if anyone knows anything about the speaker. YES IT WILL! That little driver in that little box will sound in accordance to it's size and enclosure volume. "It is also worth noting that the 5.25" woofer doesn't necessarily mean they will sound small". I myself believe (build quality being equal) that a more efficient driver sounds better at normal listing range. There is plenty of other talk about speaker sensitivity/efficiency out there. Partly because of the quality of Fostex., but also because they are efficient to 95db. I have a pair of custom build enclosures with Fostex FE207E drivers. and it's ability to reproduce accurate sound at lower levels. I think this is because of the inefficiency of the driver. They also lack in many areas when played at lower volumes/lower power. They sound GREAT when at the upper level of what the receiver can do and speaker can handle. The X-LS are an inefficient speaker in my book (87db). The shipping AV123 charges is not so cool! That puts the the X-LS closer to $280.00. I have a pair of the X-LS bookshelf's from AV123. God listened closely to Daniel because He loved him. But that’s not why God paid any attention to Him. I am then able to find freedom from all my piddly needs and requests, which leaves time and space to be with Him on a more worshipful plane.ĭaniel dusted his sackcloth-clad body in ashes because his soul was in pain and his outward actions reflected that. But suddenly that big problem I was about to ask God to deal with seems less looming, less powerful, less likely to be the end-of-the-world disaster it appeared to be only moments ago. At that point… what was I praying about again? Who cares with such a God as this close by. Suddenly I have gone from just wanting to get some things off my mind, to an elevated belief in His generous intimacy and careful regard for my life. This pre-loaded faith in God’s sharp hearing puts me in a much better state as I bring my requests and concerns to Him. God wants us to see Him as the God who understands us so well that He only needs to be asked once. God is trying to help us understand that the gift of His full attention is fully ours just for talking to Him (which is pretty incredible, if you think about it). When one person truly listens to another, they are placing the immense value of their full attention on the person speaking. When I say something only once, I am demonstrating a belief that the hearer respects me enough to actually, fully listen. It takes a lot of trust to say something only one time to any being… God, kids, adults. When I talk to my children, I say the same thing to them several times, usually in some sort of elevated octave, because their behavior in general shows me that they usually are not listening to me. Though praying to an unseen God takes an assumed level of faith, not repeating myself while I pray takes even more. I now start my prayers, not with words, but with belief.Īnd I talk to Him, saying my concern or request or anything else once, assuming He hears me the first time.* I start my prayers, long or short, by first believing God hears me the moment I speak and that He already knows my prayers before I say them. So here’s what I’ve been doing differently since reading this passage in Daniel. It would be the saddest thing to live our whole lives missing out on the closeness of our loving God, especially when He has spoken so clearly of its overflowing availability to us in the Bible (Psalm 23, Psalm 139, Matthew 28:20, etc.) If God hears our prayers before we speak them, then that is some next level intimacy right there. He heard Daniel “the moment” he spoke in God’s general direction.Īny distance that is assumed to be there on God’s part when we pray is simply a figment of our unbelief. God already “knows exactly what you need, even before you ask Him.” If you are trying to get God to hear or respond to you by doing XYZ, you’ve approached prayer all wrong from the start. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again.” (Matthew 6:7) “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. Per usual, a lot of times I pray like I’m one of the people that Jesus used as an object lesson of what NOT to do: For those of you who don’t believe me, here’s this. It’s all up and down the Bible that God loves to hear us pray and He is absolutely and attentively listening. This forgetfulness of God’s willingness to listen to me is nothing less than completely foolish. After all, I’m not Daniel and I’m not about to receive an epic vision regarding the end of the world from the archangel Gabriel. And Gabriel plainly says why in verse 23: “for you are very precious to God.”Įven though I’ve been a Christian for a couple decades at this point, I am guilty of forgetting that God is so assiduous in His care for me that He hears my prayers as loud and clear as He says He does. “ The moment” Daniel began to pray, God responded. It was simply God’s loving favor and attention toward Daniel that caused God to hear him, and hear him fast. It wasn’t the repentant sackcloth, the hours spent praying or the application of spent embers that ensured God would answer Daniel’s cries. Yet though Gabriel came specifically to answer Daniel’s pleas, it wasn’t the outward work he put into this prayer time that triggered the appearance of an angelic messenger. If you read Daniel 9, this prayer posture is completely warranted, culturally anchored and beautiful. He was pleading with God for mercy, both for himself and for Israel. His soul was in pain over a prophecy he had read. Daniel wasn’t just snuggling a teddy bear in his pajamas, kneeling next to his bed and praying night-night prayers when Gabriel showed up at his house with a message fresh out of eternity.ĭaniel was wearing a pokey burlap sack and had sprinkled himself with cinders. Increase in NWC Liability and/or Decrease in NWC Asset ➝ Increase in Cash Flowįocusing on net income without looking at the real cash inflows and outflows can be misleading because accrual-basis profits are easier to manipulate than cash-basis profits.Increase in NWC Asset and/or Decrease in NWC Liability ➝ Decrease in Cash Flow. However, for changes in net working capital, the following rules apply: The impact of non-cash add-backs is relatively straightforward, as these have a net positive impact on cash flows (e.g. In effect, the real movement of cash during the period in question is captured on the statement of cash flows – which brings attention to operational weaknesses and investments/financing activities that do not appear on the accrual-based income statement.
